BPSC Study Material PDF Download In English & Hindi | Syllabus| Bihar PSC Books 2021 – The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) conducts the BSPC Recruitment exams to fill various vacancies in the Bihar government. Eligibility Criteria Highlights

  • No eatables or drinkables are allowed inside the examination hall. The candidates can only carry a bottle of water.
  • 35% of the advertised 731 vacancies are reserved for female candidates.
  • The application fee for the main exam must be paid by candidates who qualify the preliminary exam.
  • The pay scale and benefits provided for the BPSC posts differ across the different job profiles. This salary and benefits for each post is revised every year based on the performance of the candidate at work.
Age LimitThe lower age limit for all the candidates is 18 years.

The upper age limit for General males is 37 years, for General females and OBC candidates is 40 years, and for SC and ST candidates is 42 years.
Educational QualificationThe candidate should have completed their Graduation, or any other equivalent degree, from a Government recognized college or university.
NationalityIt is essential that the candidate be an Indian citizen with the necessary documents to prove the same.

The candidate can also be a permanent resident of India, but they must provide the Government-issued documents to prove the same.

The BPSC has different age limit criteria for different individuals.

Age Relaxation

  • There is no restriction on the number of examination attempts as long as candidates are eligible for the age criteria.
  • For government employees who have been in continuous service for at least three years have special exemptions.
  • Relaxation in Upper Age Limit is given for 5 years
  • For People with Disability (PwD), the upper age limit is relaxed by 10 years.
  • Ex-servicemen who are below 53 years of age, can avail of BPSC age relaxation of three years plus the number of years in service.

Number of Attempts

  • The number of attempts varies among the caste.
  • In case of SC/ST, there is no limit on the number of attempts. The applicants who don’t belong to the open category can write up to six attempts.
  • For OBC Noncreamy layer category the candidates can try up to nine attempts.
  • There is no discrimination between the genders in a number of attempts.

BPSC Exam Pattern

  • The BPSC exam is split into 3 divisions: Preliminary Exam, Main Exam, and Interview Round.
  • The preliminary exam has 1 paper of 150 marks with a time limit of 2 hours.
  • The main exam consists of 4 different exams of 4 subjects, depending on the job you have applied for, with 3 hours.

BPSC Interview Test

Candidates who had qualified the BPSC Mains Exam would be called for the ‘Interview’ Round. Candidates are interviewed by a Board appointed by the Commission. The main fields checked by the interviewer given below.

  • The candidate will be interviewed by a board who will have before them a record of the candidate career and interests filled by the candidate in the Application Form.
  • The objective of the interview is to check the personal suitability of the candidate for the career in the state services by a board of competent and unbiased observers.
  • In the personality test, apart from their academic study, candidates must be aware of the affairs happening both within and outside their state.
  • The interview is more of purpose conversation intended to explore the mental qualities and analytical ability of the candidate.

Preparation Strategy

Candidates must have an effective preparation strategy to be able to qualify the BPSC Selection Process for the CCE. The candidates can follow the steps suggested by the experts to improve their chances of selection:

  • You should study for at least 6 hours every day to be well-prepared for the examination. You can take an off from studying one day in the week and have some rest.
  • You should work out for an hour every day, at least, to attain the physical measurements required for the post. You can take an off from working out one day in the week.
  • Read newspapers, magazines, online articles everyday and stay updated about the current affairs.
  • Attempt time-bound mock tests to assess your time management.
  • Keep practicing reading and writing in Hindi to develop fluency and speed.
  • Ideally candidates should start their exam preparations at least 5-6 months before the exam.
  • The competition for the vacancies advertised by BPSC is steadily increasing, hence wholehearted efforts are required by the candidates.
  • Last one month should be kept only for revision and mock tests.
  • Practice at least one mock test every week in a time bound manner.
  • This will help you get the feel of the actual exam environment and help you with your time management during the preliminary and main exam.
  • In the last month, practice one mock test daily.
  • Inculcate a habit of reading online articles, blogs, newspapers, magazines in addition to the books recommended by the experts.
  • This will help improve your general awareness and general knowledge in an effortless manner.
  •  Take help of your friends or family to practice interview questions. You may also seek tips from experts to help improve your preparedness for the interview.
  • Having adequate sleep, proper diet and regular exercise are also important to help you stay sharp and active during the exam.
