COVID-19: Israel shares high end technology with AIIMS

Israel recently shared its artificial intelligence (AI)-based technologies and high-end equipment with AIIMS, Delhi.  This is a part of India-Israel cooperation fight against COVID-19.

Highlights

These technologies include AI video-oriented and voice operated autonomous personal robot and mobile applications that can be installed on any mobile phones of COVID-19 staff. Also, Israel has provided a 120-hour disinfection product called CPD. This stays active to protect surface against new attacks of contamination. Apart from these, a non-invasive remote patient monitoring system has been provided that will aid as screening tool of respiratory indicators for COVID-19 recovering patients.

Israel has also provided AI-based ultrasound that are specially designed for COVID-19.

India’s help to Israel

Earlier India helped Israel with safety head gears and medicines.

India-Israel

As of 2014, India is the third largest Asian trade partner and tenth largest trading partner in the world. Israeli Defence Minister came to India in 2015 to participate in Aero India. Aero India is a biennial air show held in Bengaluru at the Yelahanka Air Force Station. The event is organised by the Defence Ministry.

In 2016, India and Israel strengthened their agricultural ties. Of all the countries, India has chosen Israel as its agriculture partner. The partnership evolved under the Indo-Israel Action plan. The plan aims to establish Agriculture centres of Excellence.

In 2017, PM Modi was the first PM of India to visit Israel. During his visit, India and Israel signed several agreements on Industrial Research and Development and Technological Innovation Fund, Water Utility Reform in India, Water conservation, atomic clocks, water utility reforms and electric propulsion for small satellites.

Defence Relations

The Drone Fleet of Indian Defence is predominantly Israeli made. In 1996, India purchased 32 IAI Searcher Unmanned Aerial Vehicles for the first time. In 2007, India-Israel signed 2.5 billion USD worth deal to develop anti-aircraft system and missiles. In 2011, India bought 8356 Israeli Spike anti-tank missiles.

In 2017, India-Israel signed 2 billion USD worth agreements.
